Purchase Points With A Woolworths Credit Card
The Woolworths credit card range gives people a chance to earn frequent flyer points or save on shopping but like any rewards card there are conditions that affect how many points you earn per purchase.
These credit cards give you the chance to earn points at a rate of three Everyday Rewards per $1 with the Everyday Money credit card and one Frequent Flyer point per $1 for the Woolworths’s Qantas credit card.
Both of these rewards cards, however, favour Woolworths Group stores and to give you an idea of how the purchase points work, here is a breakdown for each of these cards.
Woolworths Everyday Money Credit Card Rewards
The Woolworths Everyday Money credit card is targeted at people who regularly shop in stores like Woolworths, Big W, Dick Smith, BSW and Caltex, maximising the amount of Everyday Reward benefits they can get. Purchases made using the card follow the 3-2-1 points-system below:
- Three points are earned for every $1 spent on Woolworths Select products purchased in-store at Woolworths or Safeway Supermarkets and Woolworths Everyday MobileTM products purchased in participating stores
- Two points per $1 are earned on purchases at Woolworths or Safeway Supermarkets, Big W, Caltex Woolworths/Safeway co-branded fuel outlets, epump, Woolworths/Safeway Liquor, Thomas Dux and participating Dick Smith Electronics and Tandy stores; and
- One point per $1 is earned for spent on other purchases
When enough points have been earned through the credit card, a gift card will be sent out to people that can be used in most Woolworths Group stores, so the emphasis is on getting money back from shopping at these stores and using the card.
Woolworths Qantas Credit Card
Like the Everyday Money credit card, this frequent flyer option favours Woolworths stores in its points system.
Woolworths Qantas credit cardholders get a base rate of one Frequent Flyer point per $1 spent but this card also doubles as an Everyday Rewards card so people have a chance to increase their points through Woolworths Group purchases.
As well as the standard point rate, people earn an extra Frequent Flyer point for every $1 over $30 spent in Woolworths, Big W or BWS stores or over $50 in Dick Smith.
All cardholders have to do is present the card and let the sales assistant or cashier scan the Everyday Rewards barcode on the back and they will be awarded with the extra points.
These credit cards both offer competitive reward options for people who shop at Woolworths Group but knowing exactly how the purchase points are awarded and calculated will help you make a more informed decision about which card options will be right for you.
