Aussie Credit Cards
Aussie has grown from a home loans company to one of the largest non-bank financial services groups in Australia, and all over the last 20 years. Famous for their slogan “At Aussie, we’ll save you”, and their lower-than-the-banks interest rates, they have built up from practically nothing into a name Australian’s know and trust.
Originally formed as Aussie Home Loans in 1992 by financial savant John Symond, Aussie quickly gained a name by undercutting the bank rates for loans. They were unique in offering premium services unheard of by the “big banks” in the market, like 24 hour service, and a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction.
In 1994 Aussie Home Loans introduced the securitisation of home loans which allowed them to offer home loans at up to 3% below the going bank rate. This attracted a lot of attention, while Aussie had always been know as good value they finally had a marketable position as the lowest prices in the industry.
This caused a boom of activity as Aussie began to take off and started to show signs it could grow into one of Australia’s largest financial services organisations. The Australian Banks were forced to copy John Symond’s tactics to compete, one man had effectively changed the way that finances worked within Australia.
Today Aussie is know for a variety of financial services, including its credit cards. By providing low interest rate and low annual fee options at the expense of traditionally “flashy” but substance-less reward packages, they have maintained their reputation for some of the best savings in Australia. Although they may not have a wide selection of different cards to choose from, Aussie has proved that what they choose to do – they do well.
If you care about your money, and want to grow your savings as efficiently as possible – it’s hard to look anywhere else except Aussie.
