ANZ BANK

The ANZ bank traces its beginnings to 1835 and has been growing from strength to strength since then.  It is a publicly listed company and has its head office at Level 14/100 Queen Street, Melbourne.  The bank operates in countries across the globe but mainly in New Zealand and Australia.  It has operations in Dubai, Europe, USA and around the Asia Pacific region.  It is the number one bank in New Zealand and in the top ten banks of Australia.

The ANZ bank has over six million customers world-wide and employs over thirty five thousand people.  Its assets amount to a staggering AUD$471.02 billion.  It has over three hundred and seventy six thousand, eight hundred shareholders.  The bank intends to increase its presence particularly in the Asia Pacific region to around twenty percent of earnings by the year 2012.

Debit cards come in a choice of three designs and can be used to pay for purchases, obtain cash or pay for items online as well as having access to telephone banking or used by mobile phone.  There are three types of Debit account – ANZ Everyday Visa Debit, ANZ Access Advantage and ANZ Access Select.

Home loans are available for first time buyers, investment opportunities and refinancing. Personal loans can be obtained to use for household goods, renovations and holidays. Car loans, graduate loans and a variety of supplementary loans are also available.

The bank offers investment and advice and customers can avail themselves of an online investment account or have their funds managed by the bank. Private banking is offered at ANZ for those requiring a more discreet service and travellers can use the bank to access foreign money, travellers’ cheques and other types of convenient services.

For business customers there is also a plethora of available services at ANZ which include day to day banking with easy access to the business department in the branch, financial loans to help small businesses stay in a positive cash-flow situation, access to a business credit card, internet banking for businesses and a special section for those involved in primary production called Agribusiness.

Corporate companies can use the ANZ bank for all their needs.  This section is divided into three main areas:-
•    The first for those dealing in assets between $5million and $40million.
•    The second for businesses with assets of between $40million and $400million.
•    The third for businesses with assets of over $400million.
